Important Information About

Presidential Life Ratings

On October 4, 2002, A.M. Best issued a release on Presidential Life Insurance Company downgrading the company rating to B++ (very good) from A(excellent). They further stated that the rating outlook remains stable. As an agent representing Presidential we feel it is our responsibility to notify, you of this release and provide you with our analysis of this change.

With the information we have gathered from public sources and several constructive and informative conversations with the appropriate parties within Presidential Life, we cannot find any reason for present concern to existing policyholders or for the ongoing viability of the company. Be assured, we are committed to our responsibility to carefully select and monitor the carriers we represent. As with all our company relationships, we will continue to keep close contact with Presidential and watch for any additional information to share with you.

Normally, we do not promote carriers an AM Best rating of less than A- (excellent) category for annuity products.  However, we will continue to list Presidential Life’s products on our spreadsheet for your reference.

It is important to note that a variety of economic and other conditions have negatively impacted our entire industry. Like Presidential, many carriers, including well known, highly rated companies have been down graded by one or more of the rating services. We intend to discuss these trends and the reasons behind them in a future newsletter.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the enclosed news release or would like to discuss Presidential in more detail, please give us a call, 1-888-718-0092. If you are interested in looking at other carriers to replace Presidential's long-term guarantee products, a current listing of companies and their rates is enclosed for your review. As always, we value our relationship and look forward to being of service.
