Median-income individuals can expect savings in 2001 of $375 to $800.  In later years, they could reap several hundred dollars more a year (as illustrated in the table).

Under current law, a married couple filing jointly, with two children and with household income of $60,000, pays about $4,000 in taxes.  After the rate reductions are fully effective, that same family would save at least $1,700 annually.
